Jetboil

PRINTS + PATTERNS, graphic design, illustration, TECHNOLOGY naming

Jetboil revolutionized backcountry cooking in 2001 by creating a fast, compact and efficient award-winning stoves unlike anything the world had ever seen. Their engineers continue to evolve outdoor cooking technology to bring the best products and redefine the industry.

I designed and illustrated User Guide instruction booklets to best communicate “how-to” instructions for the users, which also included a safety graphic laser etched into the actual stove, and developed names for their non-stick ceramic coating technology. When I was asked to design a graphic for the faux fuel canister that gets shipped inside the new state-of-the-art Stash camping stove, I thought who better to represent Stash than a fun group of squirrels! And the art was born. While the stove is shipped with this faux fuel canister as a non-combustable placeholder, it also functions as a limited-edition collectable canister. I also designed t-shirts and stickers from the squirrel art for promotional use.

For Jetboil’s Fast Boil stoves, I designed unique cozy graphics (the neoprene wrap that covers the canister) in a series of prints as well as seasonal solid colors to provide the consumer a wider range of product offerings.
