COLOR PALETTE, PRODUCT COLORATION AND MATERIALIZATION, PRINTS + PATTERNS, color and trend presentations, graphic design
I worked in partnership with the Patagonia Footwear development team to strategically create successful product coloration and materialization for their footwear collections. In the process, I worked with an amazing team of talented footwear designers and developers, and participated in strategic line concepting and planning. My color and trend presentations were inspirational and informative. One of the most unique was a stop-motion animated presentation which I illustrated and narrated to communicate a specific seasonal trend platform designed to inform and inspire both internal and international groups. I’ve included some still frames below. Reach out to me if you want to see the full video.
Personas were created as an internal tool to define the users interaction with the product, and help the color and development team align key seasonal colors and product to the users desired participation. For example, our customer may use a performance shoe for trail running or hiking, but the same person will want to wear a well crafted boot for hanging out with friends at the farmers market. Same customer but different personas as far as product need.
Here are some frames from a stop-motion animation film that I created to communicate the key global trends that were driving influence for this particular season. It delivered an honest, hands on approach in tone and aesthetics using a journal book to build out each story. This was presented internally as well as for Patagonia’s global sales team at their annual international sales meeting.
